Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using EventerPort ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must not use the Service. We may update these terms from time to time; continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

2. Accounts

  • You sign in using a third-party OAuth provider (Discord, Twitter/X, Facebook, or Bluesky). You are responsible for the security of your provider account.
  • You may link multiple OAuth providers to a single EventerPort account. Each provider identity can only be linked to one account.
  • You must provide accurate information and keep your profile up to date. Impersonating another person or entity is prohibited.
  • You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under 18, you represent that you have parental or guardian consent.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Post or share unlawful, harassing, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise objectionable content.
  • Spam, phish, or distribute malware through event descriptions, comments, or any other user-generated content.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts, the Service's infrastructure, or connected third-party systems.
  • Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to extract data from the Service without prior written permission.
  • Interfere with the operation of the Service, including denial-of-service attacks or deliberate overloading.
  • Circumvent security measures, rate limits, or access controls.

4. Content

  • You retain ownership of content you submit (event descriptions, images, etc.), but grant EventerPort a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display and distribute that content within the Service.
  • We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these terms or is reported by the community, without prior notice.
  • You must not upload content that infringes on the intellectual property rights of others.

5. Reputation & Ratings

EventerPort may include reputation, rating, or feedback systems. You agree that:

  • Ratings and reviews must be honest and based on genuine experiences.
  • Manipulating reputation scores through fake accounts, coordinated voting, or other deceptive means is prohibited and grounds for suspension.
  • We may adjust or reset reputation data if manipulation is detected.

6. Account Suspension

We reserve the right to suspend or permanently ban any account that:

  • Violates these Terms of Service or our community guidelines.
  • Engages in fraudulent, abusive, or harmful activity.
  • Is the subject of repeated, substantiated complaints from other users.

We will make reasonable efforts to notify you of a suspension and provide an opportunity to appeal, except where immediate action is necessary to protect the safety of users or the integrity of the Service.

7. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
  • We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.
  • Our total liability for any claim related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the 12 months prior to the claim, or $100 CAD, whichever is greater.
  • We are not responsible for the actions, content, or conduct of any user or third party, whether online or at in-person events discovered through the Service.

8. Changes to These Terms

We may modify these Terms of Service at any time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review these terms periodically. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
